How the calculation works
Nisab: 87.48 grams of gold or 612.36 grams of silver, valued at today's prices. For mixed assets, the silver standard is recommended as it's lower and benefits more people.
Formula: (Total assets − Debts) × 2.5%, payable only if your net wealth meets or exceeds the nisab.

When is Zakat due?
Once your wealth has met the nisab for one full lunar year (hawl). Many people calculate and pay during Ramadan.
Do I subtract my debts?
Yes — immediate debts and loans you must pay are deducted before calculating the 2.5%.
What about gold I wear daily?
